Our Free Little Library Project

Throughout November, our center worked on building a Free Little Library that supports reading and connection for our families and the wider community. Families shared donations that helped us purchase a collection of books, and we appreciate the generosity that supported this project.

During the month, families also took part in a silent auction that added excitement and support to the project. The auction featured a variety of items, including four hundred dollars off a California Closets purchase, two tickets to the December fourteenth Chiefs vs. Chargers game, a custom two-tiered cake order, a one hour personal training session, a handmade charcuterie and cutting board, a classroom pizza party, and a sixty dollar gift card for permanent jewelry. These contributions strengthened the impact of the Library and helped us bring meaningful resources to the space.

Each book added to the Library was selected by Ms. Holly, who chose stories that encourage curiosity, kindness, and a steady love for learning. Children across the center watched the collection grow during the month. These moments helped them see how small acts of giving can support others in meaningful ways.

The Free Little Library is open to our families at Rise Above and to neighbors in the community. This project gave children chances to understand how their efforts can contribute to something lasting. We appreciate everyone who helped bring this project together.
