Throughout December, the children at Rise Above will take part in the I Am Celebrating Project. This month long experience invites them to explore the many ways people celebrate across cultures. The project gives children steady chances to learn about themselves, their families, and the traditions that shape their lives.
The work will center on conversations, shared stories, and simple hands-on experiences. These moments help children understand how celebrations can look unique from one home to another. This approach supports meaningful learning by encouraging curiosity and awareness of the many ways people gather and connect.
As the month continues, the children will explore ideas related to belonging, identity, and connection. These moments show how celebrations bring people together and how each tradition reflects something important to the people who hold it. The project also gives children space to share their own experiences in ways that feel natural.
