Once a week at Rise Above Early Learning Center, Coach Jay from Soccer Shots walks through our doors, sets up on our campus, and gets to work with a group of children who are genuinely excited to see him.
Soccer Shots has been part of our program for a while now, and it has been one of those additions that families consistently appreciate.
What Happens During a Soccer Shots Session
Soccer Shots is built specifically for early learners. Every session is age-appropriate, low-pressure, and designed to meet children where they are developmentally.
The core focus is ball control: learning to move a soccer ball with their feet, developing coordination, and building the kind of body awareness that comes from repeated, joyful practice. Children also work on teamwork through games that require passing, taking turns, and encouraging each other.
Coach Jay brings consistency and genuine warmth to every session. Our children know him, trust him, and look forward to his visits. That familiarity matters. Learning new physical skills takes confidence, and confidence grows when children feel safe with the person teaching them.
Why It Fits at Rise Above
At Rise Above, we believe children learn best through movement, exploration, and real experience. Soccer Shots reflects those same values. Children are not sitting and watching. They are on their feet, trying things, figuring out what works, and celebrating each other’s progress.
There is also something meaningful about a child working toward a physical skill over time. The child who could not keep the ball on their foot in week two has it figured out by week six. That kind of visible, tangible growth does something for a child’s sense of capability that carries into everything else they do.
How to Get Your Child Involved
Soccer Shots is available to all of our enrolled families. If your child is not currently participating, enrollment is open at any time. Just reach out to our front desk and we will get you the details.
We love having Coach Jay as part of our Rise Above community, and we think your child will too.
