Fathers hold a unique place in the life of a young child. The way a dad laughs, the way he gets down on the floor to play, the way he listens, it shapes something deep. At Rise Above, we believe in celebrating those relationships, and our annual Father’s Day Lunch is one of the best ways we know how.
On Thursday, June 18 from 11:30 to 12:30, Rise Above dads are invited to join their children at the center for an outdoor lunch together. We’ll have pizza, drinks, and a batch of brownies that the children made themselves in cooking class just the day before.
What happens at the Father’s Day Lunch is simple and wonderful. A dad walks through the door, and his child’s face lights up. They sit down together in a space the child knows and loves. The child gets to share something they are proud of. And for a little while, the busy world slows down.
This is what family partnership looks like to us. We do not just teach the children who come through our doors. We nurture the whole family. Events like the Father’s Day Lunch exist because we know that when a parent feels connected to this community, it deepens the experience for the child.
If dad is not able to attend, another special adult is welcome to come in his place. We want every child to have someone at their side for this one.
RSVP by June 15 by contacting the office. We hope to see a full table of happy dads and even happier kids.
