Why We Host a Mother’s Day Tea Party Every Year

Every May, we do something simple: we put out the tea, set out the pastries, and invite our moms to stop in.

It sounds small. And in some ways, it is. But in another way, it is one of the most meaningful things we do all year.

The Mother’s Day Tea Party is not a production. It happens during morning drop-off, which means it fits into the real rhythm of family life. No babysitters to arrange, no evening blocked off. Just a quiet moment, a cup of tea, a pastry, and a few extra minutes with your child before you each go your separate ways for the day.

At Rise Above, we talk a lot about the relationship between families and teachers. But the relationship between parents and children is the most important one in the room. Every time we create a space for families to just be together, without the rush, without the logistics, we are investing in that relationship.

Mothers carry so much. They hold schedules and worries and the invisible weight of keeping everyone okay. This is our small way of saying: we see you. We are grateful for you. And we want you to have a moment that is just yours.

Join us on Friday, May 8th during morning drop-off for the Rise Above Mother’s Day Tea Party. Tea, pastries, and time with your little one. We cannot wait to celebrate you.
