The People Behind the Magic: Celebrating Our Teachers During Appreciation Week

They arrive before most families have had their morning coffee. They know your child’s favorite color, their fears, and the games that make them laugh. They notice when something feels off before a child even has the words to explain it.

Our teachers at Rise Above are not just doing a job. They are doing something much harder and much more important than that.

Teacher Appreciation Week runs May 4th through 8th, and this year, our Parent Committee has helped plan a week of celebration that is genuinely worthy of the people we are honoring.

Here is a look at what families can do to be part of the celebration:

Stop by the front desk. Each teacher’s favorites list is posted, so you can bring in a small gift that is perfectly suited to them.

Bring flowers. We will have a vase ready for each teacher. Families are invited to bring in flowers throughout the day, and by afternoon, every teacher will have a full bouquet built by our community.

Write a note. From you, from your child, or both. Words of appreciation from the families you serve mean more than teachers can often say.

The research on teacher retention and wellbeing is clear: when teachers feel genuinely valued, they stay. They grow. They give more. Investing in our teachers is one of the most direct ways families can invest in the quality of care their children receive.

We are so grateful for every member of the Rise Above teaching team. This week is for them.
