Our Pre K children at Rise Above Early Learning Center spent the day cooking with Ms. Patty during a hands-on class that brought steady focus and warm energy into the classroom. They worked with real ingredients and tools as they prepared pumpkin bread and mashed potatoes.
The children measured, poured, stirred, and watched each ingredient change as they worked. These moments supported meaningful learning as they practiced patience, attention, and cooperation. Cooking encourages conversation and connection, giving our families’ children time to share ideas and enjoy a calm rhythm together.
This experience reflected our approach to learning. We give children chances to build independence and express themselves through hands-on work. This month’s cooking class invited curiosity and confidence as our Pre K learners moved through each step with care.
